1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you choose to create an account, we collect:

  • Email address — provided when you opt into authentication via our magic code sign-in flow. Your email is used solely for account verification and authentication.

Calculation Data

When you use Cloud Calculator, we store:

  • Calculation expressions and results — the mathematical expressions you enter and their computed results.
  • Timestamps — when each calculation was performed.
  • Labels — any labels you assign to your calculations.

This data is stored in InstantDB, our cloud database provider, to enable cross-device sync.

Anonymous Device Tokens

If you use Cloud Calculator without creating an account, we generate a cryptographically random device token stored locally on your device (in localStorage). This token is used solely to associate your calculations with your device and is never shared with third parties.

Server-Side Analytics

We use Cloudflare Analytics, which collects aggregated, server-side metrics such as page views and request counts. Cloudflare Analytics does not use cookies, does not collect personal information, and does not perform client-side tracking.

Information We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect crash or error reporting data.
  • We do not collect payment or financial information (Cloud Calculator is a free service).
  • We do not use cookies. Cloud Calculator does not use cookies.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Deliver the service — perform calculations and display results.
  • Sync across devices — keep your calculation history available on all your signed-in devices.
  • Authenticate your account — verify your identity when you sign in via email magic code.
  • Improve the service — understand aggregate usage patterns through server-side analytics.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

Cloud Calculator uses the following third-party services:

4. Data Storage and Security

Where Your Data Is Stored

  • Cloud storage: Your calculation data is stored in InstantDB’s cloud infrastructure.
  • Local storage: Cloud Calculator uses your browser’s localStorage and IndexedDB for offline caching, enabling the app to work without an internet connection.

Security Measures

  • All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security).
  • Authentication uses secure, time-limited magic codes sent to your email — no passwords are stored.
  • Anonymous device tokens are generated using cryptographically secure random number generation.

Cookies

Cloud Calculator does not use cookies. Local data storage is handled exclusively through localStorage and IndexedDB, which are used for offline functionality and are not shared with any third party.

5. Your Rights Under GDPR (European Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

Lawful Basis for Processing: We process your data based on:

  • Contractual necessity — to provide the Cloud Calculator service you use.

Cloud Calculator is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
